1. Consent to Contact & Pre-Assessment
Before beginning the application process for Tsë Lhts’ënc’il Nec’igekh Be Yikh, we ask that you provide your consent to be contacted by our team and complete a short Pre-Assessment.
The Pre-Assessment helps us understand your needs and situation. It helps us determine whether Split Rock is the right program for you at this time, with the right supports in place. It allows us to prepare for next steps in a safe, respectful, and trauma-informed way.
By providing your consent and completing the form below, you are letting us know that you are interested in applying to the Split Rock Healing House program and would like to move forward in the application process.
Providing consent is required before your application can move forward. If you choose not to consent at this time, you are always welcome to reapply in the future.
Once your consent and Pre-Assessment are submitted, a member of our Admissions Team will contact you within 48 hours to talk with you about next steps. This includes scheduling an in-person or phone interview.
Split Rock Healing House is a voluntary program. You have the right to choose what information you share and to ask questions at any point during this process.
2. About the Pre-Assessment Process
The Split Rock Healing House philosophy is that assessments should be centered on understanding each applicant’s unique needs, experiences and circumstances.
The Pre-Assessment process involves gathering information about:
History of substance use;
Current situation
Physical and mental health status
Any other relevant factors that may impact treatment
This process is approached with compassion and empathy, recognizing that substance use, trauma, and healing are complex and often connected to emotional, social, cultural, and environmental factors.
Assessments consider cultural background, community context, and potential barriers to services. By taking a holistic approach, the Split Rock team can better determine whether our program is the right fit and increase the likelihood of positive outcomes.
If you or the Split Rock admissions team determine that Split Rock Healing House is not the right fit at this time, we will work to connect you with other appropriate supports or services.

3. Privacy & Confidentiality
Tsë Lhts’ënc’il Nec’igekh Be Yikh (Split Rock Healing House) is committed to protecting the privacy, dignity, and confidentiality of all youth, families, caregivers, and referral partners who share information with us.
Information may be stored securely in physical files and/or electronic systems used for program operations. Information is accessed only by authorized staff and used solely for program related purposes.

4. Benefits and Material Risks of Assessment
Benefits of an Assessment:
An assessment provides an opportunity to better understand your situation, identify strengths and needs, and explore supports that may help with healing and wellness.
Material Risks of an Assessment:
Some Applicants may feel uncomfortable or emotional when talking about sensitive experiences, substance use, or mental health. In some cases, recommendations may be made that you are not ready or willing to engage in.
Benefits of Declining an Assessment:
Declining assessment may help avoid discomfort related to sharing personal information or receiving recommendations you are not ready to hear.
Material Risks of Declining an Assessment:
If you decline assessment, you cannot be considered for admission to Split Rock Healing House. You may also miss opportunities to identify supports that could be helpful to you.
Split Rock Healing House services (including counselling, cultural programming, workshops, room, and board) are provided at no cost to youth aged 12-29 who are residents of British Columbia. You may need personal funds for hygiene items or medication coverage.
